Qing Ming Shang He Tu (Along the River During the Qingming Festival) is an original painting by the Song dynasty artist Zhang Ze Duan. Depicting life in the capital Bianjing, now Kaifeng in Henan Province of China, the painting is drawn to geometric accuracy in minute detail on a 5.28 metre scroll.

Zhang Ze Duan, a Chinese imperial court artist, captured daily life from all strata of society, from rural to urban areas. His masterpiece Qing Ming Shang He Tu showcases the best of life during the Song Dynasty – one of China’s golden ages.

For the first international exhibition of Qing Ming Shang He Tu, three viewing halls serve to provide an enriching, educational and interactive journey.
Your introduction to life during the Song Dynasty life begins in the Pre-Show Hall. Learn about the achievement s of the Song Dynasty – one of China’s golden ages, and how Bianjing grew into a vibrant city.

In the Main Hall, the spectacular masterpiece is magnified 30 times its original size, immersing you in 128m x 6.5m of living art. Witness the amazing animation of 1,068 characters in the painting as they go about their daily life, bringing the Qing Ming Shang He Tu to life.

At the Post-Show Hall, you’ll be able to sample food and beverages reminiscent of that era. And if you would like to take home a piece of Song Dynasty history, don’t miss out on a variety of limited-edition merchandise and a special themed setting for photography, where you can capture a moment in time.

The tour is free-of-charge for Press Club members. Guests at $10 per head (usual price $20). André Ahchak (not to be confused with The Noose’s Andre Chichak) is senior director of communications & media commercialisation at the VOX Group and supervising editor of VOXSPORTS. With more than 25 years’ experience, André has held senior management positions in corporate & marketing communications and crisis management. André’s journalistic and news anchor career on television and radio (Channel NewsAsia, 938LIVE MediaCorp & SAFRA Radio) in Singapore, has had him train and work with the BBC, ABC (Australia), ABC (America), Voice Of America (Washington DC) and Associated Press (Washington DC).

Neil Humphreys is the well-known British humour columnist-author who has written best-selling books about Singapore:, Notes From an Even Smaller Island, Scribbles from the Same Island and
Final Notes From A Great Island: A Farewell Tour of Singapore. Neil is also a regular columnist for newspapers and magazines here. The former sports reporter launched his debut novel in Jan 2010.
Match Fixer follows the fortunes of a former West Ham footballer sinking into the murky world of corruption, betting syndicates and match-fixing.

Jimmy Tay is a PR industry trailblazer who has consulted with private and public sector clients in the region and has held senior in-house corporate, financial and marketing communications positions
with major listed companies. He was voted PR Agency Head of the Year at the Asia Pacific PR Awards 2009 – the first Asian to win the annual Media magazine’s coveted title. In 2007, Jimmy was
the only PR practitioner to be listed in the inaugural Singapore Top 20 in the media and communications industry by Marketing magazine. The Institute of Public Relations of Singapore
awarded him the PR Professional of the Year in 2006. He is now the founder of Tate Anzur, a strategic public relations boutique.

Seize the rare opportunity to marvel at Vincent van Gogh’s “Starry Night” and “The Card Players” by Paul Cézanne on this special Curator’s Tour. Enjoy works by forerunners of modern art such as Gustave Courbet, Edgar Degas, Jean-François Millet and female Impressionists Berthe Morisot, Marie Bracquemond and Eva Gonzalès.

This exhibition features more than 140 Salon, Realists, Impressionists and Post-Impressionists paintings, photographs and drawings from the mid-19th century to the early 20th century. “Dreams and Reality: Masterpieces of Painting, Drawing and Photography from the Musée d’Orsay, Paris” explores the reaction of man towards modernity. The changing social and industrial landscapes of Paris in early modernity forced artists and photographers to rethink their approach to the visual world.
